Tribute :Steve- we were so sorry to read of Marlene's passing in last night's paper. It seems that it was not so very long ago that she came into the office (Dr. Spowart's) and spoke with me. We talked for quite some time and I promised I would keep the information re her health confidential- which I did - telling no one but putting a sealed envelope into her file to be opened only in an emergency situation. I recall when she told me she was on the transplant list - she was so very happy! I wished her well and gave her a hug. We were all thrilled when we heard (via Irene Nolan - her brother Frank had the same operation) she had her operation. I sent her a card with a note wishing her well and assumed all was going according to procedure. I forgot the road can sometimes be bumpy and setbacks occur. She fought a brave battle and I shall miss her very much - she was always upbeat- vibrant- cheerful and just soldiered on even though the road was long and uphill at times. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy and we shall speak with you upon your return to Cranbrook at the gathering of friends in celebration of her life. With our deepset sympathy- Bud & Rhonda Beeman.
